The striking silhouette of a modern home stands proudly amidst the rugged sandstone backdrop of the Colorado/Utah border. Modern roof lines accentuate the natural contour of the rock formations that put the place on the map. Horesethief Hideout is located in a privately-owned, 6-acre property bordering the world-famous Kokopelli Loops trailhead. Hikers, bikers, and campers travel to take advantage of world-class mountain biking trails high above the Colorado River. The entrepreneur owners of this unique property will offer nightly vacation rentals to visitors. Alta Home Builders worked with the homeowners to implement the unique and challenging floor plan, which was purchased from Legacy Home Plans. The layout out offers ample glazing throughout the home to enjoy 360-degree views from a heightened vantage point, or while enjoying a glass of wine on the lovely walk-out deck. A stunning waterfall marble countertop serves as the centerpiece of the upstairs entertaining space, complemented by a dramatic, black backsplash and soaring 18' vaulted ceilings. The home boasts two unique wall murals painted by Missouri artist, Florelle Rodenberg, as well as a custom skull carving by local artist, Rachel Lee Art. Every space is utilized within the home for guests to relax and take in the breathtaking views. From the art nook to the garage game room, each area offers entertainment and amenities. A custom bike rack doubles as a bike wash. The stunning trailhead location and minimalist, modern design will surely appeal to many visitors to Western Colorado for years to come.
